It also asks for gratitude for Allah's blessings and the ability to worship Him properly. The prayer then turns inward, asking for a sound heart and a truthful tongue. It ends by asking for the best of what Allah knows, seeking refuge from the worst of what Allah knows, and asking forgiveness for what Allah knows. This dua for steadfastness in prayer is wide in meaning but still direct. It teaches a believer to ask Allah for faith, character, safety, and forgiveness.
