Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 1523
This dua for rain hadith is short, easy to remember, and full of meaning. Aishah narrated that when it rained, the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم would say: “Allahummaj'alhu Sayyiban nafi'a,” meaning, “O Allah, make it beneficial rain.” The hadith shows that even when rain comes, the believer still turns to Allah. Rain can bring relief, growth, and mercy, but the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم asked that it be useful and beneficial. The wording is simple and direct. This makes the hadith a strong reminder to connect everyday events, like rainfall, with dua. A Muslim does not only ask for rain; when it arrives, he asks Allah to make it good.
