Prohibiton Against Eating Horse Meat

Sunan an-NasaiHadith Number 4331

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ثَوْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْمِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِيكَرِبَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ لاَ يَحِلُّ أَكْلُ لُحُومِ الْخَيْلِ وَالْبِغَالِ وَالْحَمِيرِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Khalid bin al-walid that he heard the Messe4nger of Allah say: "It is not permissible to eat the flesh of horses, mules or donkeys."
