Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 5059
This hadith about starting from the right describes a loved practice of the Messenger of Allah [SAW]. Aishah says he used to like beginning with the right. He would accept with his right hand and give with his right hand, and he liked to start on the right in all his affairs. The wording gives examples of taking and giving, then gives a broader phrase about his affairs. The lesson is easy to apply in a gentle way: notice the right side in actions where this wording fits. The hadith does not list every act one by one, so the explanation should not invent a full list. It simply shows the Prophet’s [SAW] preference for the right.
What we learn from this hadith
- The Prophet [SAW] liked starting with the right.
- Taking and giving with the right hand are directly mentioned.
- The report says he liked the right in all his affairs.
- The examples should be kept close to the narration.
