Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 5468
This Hadith gives a dua against hunger and treachery. Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: “O Allah, I seek refuge in You from hunger, for it is a bad companion, and I seek refuge with You from treachery, for it is a bad thing to hide in one’s heart.” The wording is direct. Hunger is described as a bad companion, something that stays close and makes life hard. Treachery is described as a bad inner matter, hidden inside a person. The dua teaches the believer to ask Allah for protection from bodily hardship and from a harmful trait of the heart.
