Beautiful Prophetic Hadiths on the Rewards for Patience
Patience holds an incredibly comforting place in Islamic teachings. According to these authentic prophetic traditions, every single difficulty a Muslim encounters serves a greater spiritual purpose. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) reassured believers that no calamity, hardship, or pain is ever wasted. Whether you are dealing with a minor physical inconvenience like the sharp prick of a small thorn, or carrying heavier emotional burdens such as deep sorrow, fatigue, sickness, anxiety, and mental distress, Allah uses these moments to erase your sins. These beautiful hadiths on patience remind us that even during our most difficult days when we feel overwhelmed by hurt or sadness, Allah's mercy is actively working to cleanse us. Every struggle becomes a direct means of purification and spiritual reward.
Abu Hurairah Narrated from:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The example of a believer is that of a fresh tender plant; from whatever direction the wind comes, it bends it, but when the wind becomes quiet, it becomes straight again. Similarly, a believer is afflicted with calamities (but he remains patient till Allah removes his difficulties.) And an impious wicked person is like a pine tree which keeps hard and straight till Allah cuts (breaks) it down when He wishes." (See Hadith No. 558, Vol. 9.)

Abu Hurairah Narrated from:
I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "The good deeds of any person will not make him enter Paradise." (i.e., None can enter Paradise through his good deeds.) They (the Prophet's companions) said, 'Not even you, O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)?' He said, "Not even myself, unless Allah bestows His favor and mercy on me." So be moderate in your religious deeds and do the deeds that are within your ability: and none of you should wish for death, for if he is a good doer, he may increase his good deeds, and if he is an evil doer, he may repent to Allah."
