Authentic Hadiths About Satan and His Deceptions

Understanding the tactics of Satan is essential for safeguarding your faith and daily habits. According to the narrated prophetic traditions, the devil employs various ways to disrupt a Muslim's spiritual life, especially during sleep. The hadiths reveal that Satan ties three knots at the back of your head when you go to sleep, urging you to stay in bed. However, you can easily break these bonds by remembering Allah, performing ablution, and standing in prayer. If a person completely neglects their prayers and sleeps straight through until morning, it is described as a state where the devil has foully influenced them. Furthermore, these narrations highlight instances of dark magic where even the Prophet experienced visual trials before being fully healed by Allah. By learning these authentic teachings, you can better recognize these spiritual traps and stay consistent with your daily prayers.

Abu Hurairah Narrated from:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "During your sleep, Satan knots three knots at the back of the head of each of you, and he breathes the following words at each knot, 'The night is, long, so keep on sleeping,' If that person wakes up and celebrates the praises of Allah, then one knot is undone, and when he performs ablution the second knot is undone, and when he prays, all the knots are undone, and he gets up in the morning lively and in good spirits, otherwise he gets up in low spirits and lethargic."
