Authentic Hadiths on the Sunnah of Fitrah and Personal Grooming
The Sunnah of Fitrah represents the natural, innate practices of cleanliness and personal hygiene taught by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). According to authentic prophetic narrations, these regular grooming habits are essential for maintaining spiritual purity and physical health. The Prophet (ﷺ) highlighted five core acts of fitrah: circumcision, shaving the pubic region, clipping the fingernails, removing armpit hair, and cutting the moustache short. Additionally, believers are explicitly commanded to trim the moustache while letting the beard grow naturally, establishing a clean identity that sets Muslims apart from pagans. Practicing these clean habits is a simple way to follow the Sunnah of Islam in our everyday routine, ensuring we stay close to the natural way of life designed by Allah for our well-being.
