Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 1368
This hadith about neighbor's right to a home is brief and focused. Samurah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said the neighbor of a home has more right to the home. The wording points to the importance of neighbor rights in property matters. It does not give every detail of buying, selling, or shared access, so the explanation should not go beyond the text. Still, the message is clear: a neighbor is not a stranger when a nearby home is involved. The hadith helps people think about fairness, closeness, and good dealing with those who live next to them.
What we learn from this hadith
- Neighbors have a recognized place in property matters.
- A nearby home should not be treated without regard for the neighbor.
- The hadith encourages fair dealing with those who live close by.
- Property decisions can affect people beyond the direct owner.
