Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 1484
This hadith about snakes in the house gives a careful process. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said that there are others inhabiting your homes, so people should warn them three times to leave. If something from them appears after that, then it may be killed. The wording does not tell the listener to rush without warning. It gives an order: warn first, then act if it returns or remains visible. The narration also says that Malik reported this hadith with a story, but the provided text does not give that full story. So the safe explanation is simple: when dealing with house snakes, the hadith teaches patience, warning, and then action if the problem continues.
What we learn from this hadith
- A snake or similar inhabitant in the home should be warned three times first.
- The hadith does not teach rushed action inside the home.
- If it appears after the warning, the text permits killing it.
- The narration teaches measured action when harm may be present.
