Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 1831

This Hadith about sweets and honey reports from Aishah that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم liked sweets and honey. The narration is short and gentle. It gives a simple detail about something the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم liked. It does not say that everyone must eat sweets or honey, and it does not make health claims. It only says that he liked them. For people searching for Prophet liked honey hadith or sweets and honey hadith, this report gives the core wording. Abu Eisa grades the Hadith as Hasan Sahih Gharib and mentions that Ali bin Mushir also reported it from Hisham bin Urwah, with more wording in the Hadith. The safest explanation is to keep it close to the text: Aishah preserved a personal food preference of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.

What we learn from this hadith

  • Aishah reported that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم liked sweets and honey.
  • The Hadith records a simple personal preference of the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم.
  • The narration should not be turned into claims beyond its wording.
