Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 1892
This Hadith about drinking from a hanging water-skin is narrated from Kabshah. She said that the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) entered upon her and drank from the mouth of a hanging water-skin while standing. She then went to its mouth and cut it off. The Hadith is brief, but it preserves a clear event involving the Prophet’s drinking from a specific container. Abu Eisa graded it Hasan Sahih Gharib. He also adds a narrator note about Yazid bin Yazid bin Jabir. The explanation should stay close to the narration: it reports standing drinking from a hanging water-skin and Kabshah’s response afterward.
