Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 2261
This hadith about pride warns the Ummah against walking in proud display and living in a way that reflects arrogance. The narration connects this attitude with a serious social result: the evilest people being placed over the best people. The text also mentions servants from the children of kings, Persians, and Romans, showing a picture of luxury and worldly power. The core message is simple: when a community becomes proud and impressed by status, its leadership and social order can become harmed. The hadith does not give a long political rule here. It gives a warning that pride, comfort, and bad leadership are connected in a dangerous way.
What we learn from this hadith
- Pride can damage the moral health of a community.
- Worldly status and luxury should not become a source of arrogance.
- Bad people gaining power over good people is presented as a serious warning.
- A community should stay humble even when it has wealth or influence.
