Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri Narrated from:

The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "The Believer, When He Desires A Child In Paradise, He Shall Be Carried (In Pregnancy), Born, And Complete His Aging In An Hour As He Desires." The People Of Knowledge Disagreed Concerning This, So Some Of Them Said That In Paradise There Is Intercourse But No Births. It Has Been Reported Like This From Tawus, Mujahid And Ibrahim Annakha'I.Muhammad Said: "Concerning The Hadith Of The Prophet Saw: 'When The Believer Desires A Child In Paradise, It Shall Be In An Hour As He Desires' Ishaq Bin Ibrahim Said: 'But He Will Not Desire." Muhammad Said: "And It Has Been Reported From Abu Razin Al- 'Uqaili From The Prophet Saw That He Said: 'Indeed The People Of Paradise Shall Not Have Children Therein."

Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 2563

This Hadith about children in Paradise says that when a believer desires a child in Paradise, the pregnancy, birth, and growth would happen in an hour as he desires. The report then records that scholars differed about this matter. Some said there is intimacy in Paradise but no births, and the text also mentions a report stating that the people of Paradise will not have children there. Because the narration itself includes this discussion, the safest way to read it is with care. The main point is that Paradise is a place where desires are honored by Allah's will, while details of birth there are treated with scholarly caution in the same report.

What we learn from this hadith

  • The Hadith connects Paradise with fulfilled desire by Allah's will.
  • The narration itself records scholarly disagreement about children in Paradise.
  • A careful reader should not make broad claims beyond the wording given.
  • The unseen matters of Paradise should be spoken about with restraint.
