حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّ أَهْوَنَ أَهْلِ النَّارِ عَذَابًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ رَجُلٌ فِي إِخْمَصِ قَدَمَيْهِ جَمْرَتَانِ يَغْلِي مِنْهُمَا دِمَاغُهُ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ . وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ .
An-Nu'man bin Bashir Narrated from:
The Messenger Of Allah (s.a.w) said: "Indeed The Person Among The Inhabitants Of The Fire Punished Least [On The Day Of Judgment] Is A Man Who Has Two Coals Beneath His Feet, Which Cause His Brain To Boil." Other Chains Report Similar Narrations.

Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 2604
This hadith about the least punishment in Hellfire shows how serious the Fire is. The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) described the person among the people of the Fire who is punished the least. Two coals are placed beneath his feet, and because of them his brain boils. The wording is meant to make the heart fear the Fire and avoid what leads to it. It also corrects the idea that a smaller punishment is easy. Even the lightest punishment mentioned here is severe. The hadith teaches that the Fire is not something to take lightly, even when a punishment is described as the least.
