Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 291
This Hadith about quiet Tashahhud is very short but clear. Abdullah bin Mas'ud said, "It is from the Sunnah to say the Tashahhud quietly." The report focuses on how the Tashahhud is recited, not only what is recited. A worshipper may know the words of At-Tahiyyat, but this narration points to the manner: it is said quietly. The text also mentions that Abu Isa called the Hadith hasan gharib and that the people of knowledge acted upon it. So the meaning is direct: the Tashahhud in Salah is a quiet part of prayer. This helps keep the sitting calm and focused.
What we learn from this hadith
- The Tashahhud is to be recited quietly according to this report.
- Prayer includes both correct words and proper manner.
- The Sunnah covers details of voice and posture in Salah.
