حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ إِذَا قَدِمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى جُدُرَاتِ الْمَدِينَةِ أَوْضَعَ رَاحِلَتَهُ وَإِنْ كَانَ عَلَى دَابَّةٍ حَرَّكَهَا مِنْ حُبِّهَا . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ .
Anas narrated that: When The Prophet Would Return From A Trip And See The Walls Of Al-Madinah, He Would Speed Up His Riding Camel, And If He Was Upon A Beast, He Would Agitate It, Out Of His Love For Al-Madinah.

This hadith about love for Madinah gives a warm picture of the Prophet returning from a trip. When he saw the walls of Al-Madinah, he would speed up his riding camel, or move his animal along faster. The text gives the reason clearly: it was out of his love for Al-Madinah. The lesson is simple and human. Love for a blessed place can show in small actions, not only in words.
