Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 3826
This hadith about naming a newborn and tahnik tells a clear family moment. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم saw a lamp in the house of Az-Zubair and understood that Asma had likely given birth. He told Aishah not to name the child until he named him. He then named him Abdullah and performed tahnik with a date in his hand. The text does not list general baby naming rules, so the explanation should stay with what happened here. The main points are the Prophet’s care for the newborn, the naming of Abdullah, and the act of tahnik with a date.
