Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 3916
This hadith about Masjid Nabawi brings two famous teachings together. First, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said that what is between his house and his minbar is a garden from the gardens of Paradise. Second, he said that one prayer in this mosque of his is better than one thousand prayers in any other mosque, except Al-Masjid Al-Haram. The text gives a clear virtue to the Prophet’s Mosque and also identifies the honored area known through this wording. The hadith should not be turned into claims beyond what it says. Its message is to value prayer in Masjid Nabawi and to respect the Rawdah mentioned by the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.
What we learn from this hadith
- Rawdah is described as a garden from the gardens of Paradise.
- One prayer in the Prophet’s صلى الله عليه وسلم mosque is better than one thousand prayers elsewhere, except Al-Masjid Al-Haram.
- The hadith gives a special virtue to Masjid Nabawi.
- The exception of Al-Masjid Al-Haram should be kept as part of the wording.
