Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 42
This narration about wudu one time each is simple and direct. Ibn Abbas reports that the Prophet performed wudu once for each limb. The report does not add a long explanation, so the teaching should stay close to what is stated. It shows that wudu was sometimes done with one washing for each required part. Abu Eisa says the narration of Ibn Abbas is the best and most correct in this chapter. That comment helps the reader see why this short hadith matters in the study of purification. It is not about doing less with carelessness; rather, it points to a known form of wudu that was reported from the Prophet.
What we learn from this hadith
- The Prophet performed wudu once for each limb in this narration.
- A short hadith can still teach a clear practice of purification.
- Careful reporting matters when learning the details of wudu.
