Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 622

This Hadith focuses on zakat on cows. It gives a simple rule: on thirty cows, a tabi or tabi'ah is due, and on every forty, a musinnah is due. The wording is short, but the message is practical. Zakat is not left to guesswork; it is measured by ownership and number. This helps a person understand that cattle zakat has set levels. The Hadith also shows that wealth connected to animals has a duty when it reaches the stated amount. The related terms cattle zakat, cow zakat in Islam, and zakat on animals all fit this narration. The lesson should be taken carefully from the text only: it states the due animal for thirty and forty cows, without adding wider rulings beyond that.

What we learn from this hadith

  • Cattle zakat has specific thresholds mentioned in the Hadith.
  • Thirty cows and forty cows have different required dues.
  • Zakat is measured by clear guidance, not personal guessing.
  • Animal wealth can carry a charity duty when it reaches the stated amount.
