Summary of Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith 10
This hadith gives a short but serious rule about direction. Ma'qil ibn AbuMa'qil al-Asadi narrates that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم forbade them from facing the two qiblahs at the time of urination or excretion. The text does not explain the phrase in detail, so the safest explanation is to keep it as the narration gives it. The core topic is qiblah respect in toilet etiquette. For people searching for hadith about facing qiblah in bathroom, this report adds another wording about avoiding a sacred direction while relieving oneself. It also shows that even when a matter is private, a believer is taught to act with respect.
What we learn from this hadith
- The narration forbids facing the two qiblahs while urinating or excreting.
- Respect for sacred direction is linked to private conduct.
- Short hadiths can still give clear daily guidance.
