Summary of Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith 1344
This Hadith is brief, but it has a clear focus for anyone searching for a hadith about audible salam in witr prayer. It states that the same report was transmitted by Yahya b. Sa'id and adds that the Prophet uttered the salam loudly enough that those present could hear it. The narration does not introduce a new rak'ah count or a new event. Its value is in confirming a wording detail within the wider night prayer report. So the main point is simple: in this version of the Prophet's witr prayer, the closing salam was not hidden or silent; it was heard by those near him.
What we learn from this hadith
- This report confirms the same general night prayer narration.
- The added wording focuses on the salam being heard.
- It does not add a different rak'ah count in the provided text.
- The Hadith shows how small wording details are preserved in narration.
