Summary of Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith 1637
This sadaqah for the rich hadith gives a related wording with named situations. Abu Sa'id reports that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said sadaqah is not lawful for a rich person except in Allah’s path, or for the wayfarer, or when a poor neighbor receives sadaqah and then gives it to you as a gift or invites you. The teaching is exact and should not be stretched. It is not saying that rich people normally take zakat. It is listing cases where sadaqah may reach them in a different way. For search intent like “poor neighbor gives sadaqah as gift hadith” or “sadaqah for traveler hadith,” this narration gives clear wording.
