Summary of Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith 625

This Hadith addresses a common search topic: praying in one garment. Abu Hurairah reports that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم was asked about the validity of prayer in a single garment. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم replied, “Does every one of you have two garments?” The answer points to ease in the matter, especially for someone who only has one garment. The Hadith does not give a long list of clothing details in this narration, so the explanation should stay close to the wording. It shows that prayer clothing was discussed in a practical way, not as a burden beyond what a person owns. The key idea is simple: the question was answered with awareness of people’s real situation.

What we learn from this hadith

  • Prayer in a single garment was asked about directly.
  • The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم reminded people that not everyone owns two garments.
  • The text points to ease for those with limited clothing.
