24/10. Chapter:
"Protect yourself from Hell-fire even with half a date"
وَالْقَلِيلِ مِنَ الصَّدَقَةِ: {وَمَثَلُ الَّذِينَ يُنْفِقُونَ أَمْوَالَهُمُ ابْتِغَاءَ مَرْضَاةِ اللَّهِ وَتَثْبِيتًا مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ} الآيَةَ وَإِلَى قَوْلِهِ: {مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ}.And Allah’s Statement: “And the likeness of those who spend their wealth ..up to.. all kinds of fruits for him therein.” (V.2:265, 266).

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَعْقِلٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَدِيَّ بْنَ حَاتِمٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " اتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ ".
Narrated `Adi bin Hatim heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying: "Save yourself from Hell-fire even by giving half a date-fruit in charity."
