42/2. Chapter:

Whoever said, “The owner of the water has the right to drink till he is satisfied, as the Prophet ﷺ said, ‘Superfluous water should not be withheld from others.’”

Sahih BukhariHadith Number 2354

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، وَأَبِي، سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ لاَ تَمْنَعُوا فَضْلَ الْمَاءِ لِتَمْنَعُوا بِهِ فَضْلَ الْكَلإِ ‏"‏‏.‏

Narrated Abu Huraira: that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Do not withhold the superfluous water in order to withhold the superfluous grass."
