Sahih Bukhari 4608 — Tayammum Revealed During Travel
Allah's Statement: "...And you find no water, then perform Tayammum with clean earth..." (V.5:6)

Sahih BukhariHadith Number 4608
A'isha Narrated from:
A necklace of mine was lost at Al-Baida' and we were on our way to Medina. The Prophet (ﷺ) made his camel kneel down and dismounted and laid his head on my lap and slept. Abu Bakr came to me and hit me violently on the chest and said, "You have detained the people because of a necklace." I kept as motionless as a dead person because of the position of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ); (on my lap) although Abu Bakr had hurt me (with the slap). Then the Prophet (ﷺ) woke up and it was the time for the morning (prayer). Water was sought, but in vain; so the following Verse was revealed:--"O you who believe! When you intend to offer prayer.." (5.6)Usaid bin Hudair said, "Allah has blessed the people for your sake, O the family of Abu Bakr. You are but a blessing for them."

Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 4608
This Hadith about Tayammum gives another narration of Aisha’s necklace being lost at Al-Baida while they were on the way to Medina. The Prophet stopped, rested his head in Aisha’s lap, and slept. Abu Bakr came and blamed her strongly for keeping the people waiting because of a necklace. Aisha stayed still because the Messenger of Allah was resting on her lap, even though she was hurt. When morning prayer time came, water was searched for but not found. Then the verse beginning, “O you who believe! When you intend to offer prayer,” was revealed. Usaid bin Hudair praised the blessing Allah placed through the family of Abu Bakr. The Hadith shows that relief can come during a moment of pressure and need.
What we learn from this hadith
