Masruq Narrated from:
Hassan came to Aisha and said the following poetic Verse: 'A chaste pious woman who arouses no suspicion. She never talks against chaste heedless women behind their backs.' `Aisha said, "But you are not," I said (to `Aisha), "Why do you allow such a person to enter upon you after Allah has revealed:"...and as for him among them who had the greater share therein'?" (24.11)She said, "What punishment is worse than blindness?" She added, "And he used to defend Allah's Apostle against the pagans (in his poetry).

Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 4756
This hadith about Hassan bin Thabit visiting Aisha is close to the previous report, but it adds another point. Hassan entered and recited a poetic line praising a chaste woman who is not suspected and who does not speak against innocent women. Aisha replied, “You are not like that.” Masruq then asked why she allowed him to enter when the verse about the one who had the greater share had been revealed. Aisha answered by saying that no punishment was worse than blindness. She also added that Hassan used to defend Allah’s Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم against the pagans through his poetry. The narration shows that Aisha remembered his fault, his suffering, and also his service to the Prophet It gives a measured picture, not a one-sided one.
What we learn from this hadith
- Aisha did not ignore the harm connected to the slander.
- She also mentioned Hassan’s blindness as a severe punishment.
- She remembered that Hassan had defended the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم in poetry.
- The narration shows a balanced view of a person’s past actions.
