Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 4893
This brief hadith explains one phrase from Surah Al-Mumtahanah: “And they will not disobey you in any just matter.” Ibn Abbas said this was one of the conditions Allah placed on the believing women who came to take the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. The wording is short, so the meaning should stay focused. It is not a full list of every condition in the verse; it points to this one condition and says it was from Allah. For searches like women pledge conditions hadith or do not disobey you in good hadith, the central teaching is clear: the pledge was not only a public statement; it included a commitment to obedience in what is right and known as good.
What we learn from this hadith
- The phrase about not disobeying in good was a pledge condition.
- Ibn Abbas links the condition directly to Allah’s command.
- The hadith concerns believing women who came for bay'ah.
- A pledge includes real commitment, not only words.
