حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَسْقِي أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ وَأَبَا طَلْحَةَ وَأُبَىَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ مِنْ فَضِيخِ زَهْوٍ وَتَمْرٍ فَجَاءَهُمْ آتٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْخَمْرَ قَدْ حُرِّمَتْ. فَقَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ قُمْ يَا أَنَسُ فَأَهْرِقْهَا. فَأَهْرَقْتُهَا.
Anas bin Malik Narrated from:
I was serving Abu 'Ubaida, Abu Talha and Ubai bin Ka`b with a drink prepared from ripe and unripe dates. Then somebody came to them and said, "Alcoholic drinks have been prohibited." (On hearing that) Abu Talha said, "Get up. O Anas, and pour (throw) it out! So I poured (threw) it out.

This hadith about pouring out alcohol shows a direct response to the news of prohibition. Anas was serving Abu Ubaida, Abu Talha, and Ubai bin Ka`b a drink made from ripe and unripe dates. When someone came and said that alcoholic drinks had been prohibited, Abu Talha did not ask to finish it or keep it aside. He told Anas to get up and pour it out, and Anas did so. The wording is short, but the lesson is strong. When a command became known to them, they acted on it right away. The narration is often searched as Sahih Bukhari 5582 or the hadith about alcohol being poured away.
