Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 5634
This Hadith gives a strong warning about drinking in silver utensils. Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم), narrated that Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said the one who drinks in a silver utensil is only filling his abdomen with Hell Fire. The text is severe, so the explanation should not soften it into something else or add details not stated. The main lesson is to avoid the act mentioned: drinking from silver vessels. This Hadith about drinking in silver utensils also shows that beautiful or expensive objects are not always acceptable for use. A Muslim learns to value obedience above display, even when the item looks special.
What we learn from this hadith
- The Hadith warns strongly against drinking in silver utensils.
- The severe wording should be taken seriously.
- Expensive items are not automatically acceptable for use.
- Obedience matters more than outward display.
