Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 6434
This hadith about the righteous departing gives a serious reminder about the value of pious people. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said that the righteous will go first, one after another. After them, people will remain who are compared to the useless husk of barley or bad dates. The image is simple and strong. It shows that the presence of righteous people is a blessing, and their passing is a loss for the community. The hadith does not tell us to judge specific individuals. It gives a general warning about decline when goodness, piety, and sincere people become fewer. It encourages Muslims to value righteousness before it disappears around them.
What we learn from this hadith
- Righteous people are a blessing in society.
- The passing of pious people is described as a serious loss.
- A person should not take good company for granted.
