حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُوسَى، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، أَنَّ ابْنَ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَهُمْ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ الأَحْوَلُ، أَنَّ طَاوُسًا، أَخْبَرَهُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَرَّ وَهْوَ يَطُوفُ بِالْكَعْبَةِ بِإِنْسَانٍ يَقُودُ إِنْسَانًا بِخِزَامَةٍ فِي أَنْفِهِ، فَقَطَعَهَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِيَدِهِ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَقُودَهُ بِيَدِهِ
Ibn 'Abbas Narrated from:
While performing the Tawaf around the Ka`ba, the Prophet (ﷺ) passed by a person leading another person by a hair-rope nose-ring in his nose. The Prophet (ﷺ) cut the hair-rope nose-ring off with his hand and ordered the man to lead him by the hand.

Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 6703
This hadith about Tawaf gives more detail than the previous report. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم passed by a person leading another person with a hair-rope nose-ring in his nose while they were performing Tawaf around the Ka`ba. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم cut it off with his own hand and ordered the man to lead him by the hand. The main teaching is clear from the action and command. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم did not leave the person being led in that painful or humiliating form. He allowed leading, but changed the method to leading by the hand. This hadith teaches that worship should be done with dignity and correct guidance.
What we learn from this hadith
- The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم removed the nose-ring rope during Tawaf.
- Leading someone was changed to a more dignified way: by the hand.
- Worship should not include needless humiliation.
- The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم corrected the act immediately and clearly.
