Sahih Bukhari 7054 — Staying With the Muslim Community
“After me you will see things which you will disapprove of.”
وَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ».

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْجَعْدِ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " مَنْ رَأَى مِنْ أَمِيرِهِ شَيْئًا يَكْرَهُهُ فَلْيَصْبِرْ عَلَيْهِ، فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ فَارَقَ الْجَمَاعَةَ شِبْرًا فَمَاتَ، إِلاَّ مَاتَ مِيتَةً جَاهِلِيَّةً ".
Ibn 'Abbas Narrated from:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Whoever notices something which he dislikes done by his ruler, then he should be patient, for whoever becomes separate from the company of the Muslims even for a span and then dies, he will die as those who died in the Pre-Islamic period of Ignorance (as rebellious sinners). (Fath-ul-Bari page 112, Vol. 16)

This Hadith about staying with the Muslim community is close in meaning to the previous narration, but it uses the phrase separating from the company of the Muslims. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم says that if someone sees something from his ruler that he dislikes, he should be patient. Then he warns that whoever separates from the Muslim community even by a span and dies in that state dies a death like that of the pre-Islamic period of ignorance.
