حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ إِنْ كُنَّا آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ لَنَمْكُثُ شَهْرًا مَا نُوقِدُ فِيهِ بِنَارٍ مَا هُوَ إِلاَّ التَّمْرُ وَالْمَاءُ . إِلاَّ أَنَّ ابْنَ نُمَيْرٍ قَالَ نَلْبَثُ شَهْرًا .
A'isha Narrated from:
We, the family of Muhammad (ﷺ), would stay for a month during which no fire would be lit (for cooking) and we had only dates and water.”

This hadith about the Prophet’s simple life shows the humble living condition of the family of Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم). Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) says that a month could pass without fire being lit for cooking in their home. Their food was only dates and water. The hadith does not give a long speech, but the picture is powerful. It shows a home with very little cooked food, yet it belonged to the family of the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم). This helps us understand that honor is not always shown through comfort or wealth. It also reminds us to value food, avoid waste, and be patient when life is not full of ease.
