Asma' reported Allah's Messenger (way peace be upon him) as saying (to her): Spend and do not calculate, (for) Allah would calculate in your case; and do not hoard, otherwise Allah would be withholding from you.

Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 1029b
This Hadith about charity and not hoarding repeats the advice to Asma’ with more wording. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم told her to spend and not calculate, for Allah would calculate in her case, and not to hoard, otherwise Allah would withhold from her. The heart of the Hadith is simple: do not make your hand closed when you can give. It speaks to fear, tightness, and the habit of holding back. The narration does not cancel wise budgeting, because that is not discussed here. It warns against a hoarding mindset that blocks charity. For readers searching for hadith about hoarding wealth, this narration gives a direct Prophetic reminder to keep giving open and sincere.
What we learn from this hadith
- The Hadith warns against a hoarding attitude.
- Giving should not be stopped by excessive counting.
- The wording links withholding from people with being withheld from.
