حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ وَهْبِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ، هَمَّامٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لاَ تُلْحِفُوا فِي الْمَسْأَلَةِ فَوَاللَّهِ لاَ يَسْأَلُنِي أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ شَيْئًا فَتُخْرِجَ لَهُ مَسْأَلَتُهُ مِنِّي شَيْئًا وَأَنَا لَهُ كَارِهٌ فَيُبَارَكَ لَهُ فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتُهُ " .
Mu'awiya reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: Do not press in a matter, for I swear by Allah, none of you who asks me for anything and manages to get his request while I disdain it, will he be blessed in that which I give him.

This hadith about asking people gives a direct warning. The Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) says not to press in a matter. The wording shows that forcing a request through repeated pressure is not a good way to receive. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) swears by Allah that if someone asks him for something and manages to get it while he dislikes giving it, that person will not be blessed in what he receives. The lesson is about more than the object being given. It is about the manner of asking and the condition around the gift. A person may receive something outwardly, but the hadith warns that blessing is not attached to what is taken through pressure and discomfort.
