12/38. Chapter:

It is disliked to be eager to acquire worldly gains

Sahih MuslimHadith Number 1046b

وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، وَحَرْمَلَةُ، قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ قَلْبُ الشَّيْخِ شَابٌّ عَلَى حُبِّ اثْنَتَيْنِ طُولُ الْحَيَاةِ وَحُبُّ الْمَالِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Abu Huraira reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had said this: The heart of an old person is young for two things: for long life and love for wealth.
