Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 1063b
This entry is a hadith chain about the Prophet’s distribution of spoils. The translation tells us that the report was narrated from Jabir ibn Abdullah through another chain of transmitters. The Arabic also points to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم distributing war gains and then says the hadith was carried forward. Because this version does not give the full wording in the supplied translation, the safest explanation is to treat it as a supporting narration. Its value is that it preserves the same report through another route. For readers, this reminds us that hadith knowledge is not only about the main story, but also about how the report was carried and checked.
What we learn from this hadith
- Hadith reports may come through more than one chain of transmitters.
- A shorter chain-only entry can support a fuller narration on the same topic.
- The supplied text should not be expanded beyond what it directly states.
- Careful transmission is part of preserving the Prophet’s صلى الله عليه وسلم words and actions.
