وَحَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ بَكْرٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُلَبِّي بِالْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ جَمِيعًا . قَالَ بَكْرٌ فَحَدَّثْتُ بِذَلِكَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ لَبَّى بِالْحَجِّ وَحْدَهُ . فَلَقِيتُ أَنَسًا فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِقَوْلِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ أَنَسٌ مَا تَعُدُّونَنَا إِلاَّ صِبْيَانًا سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " لَبَّيْكَ عُمْرَةً وَحَجًّا " .
Anas Narrated from:
I heard Allah's Apostle (way peace be upon him) pronouncing Talbiya for both Hajj and Umra. Bakr (one of the narrators) said: I narrated it to Ibn 'Umar, whereupon he said: He (the Holy Prophet) pronounced the Talbiya for Hajj alone. I met Anas and narrated to him the words of Ibn 'Umar, whereupon he said: You treat us not but only as children. I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) pronouncing Talbiya both for 'Umra and Hajj.

This hadith about Talbiya for Hajj and Umrah records the statement of Anas, Allah be pleased with him. He said that he heard the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم pronouncing Talbiya for both Hajj and Umrah. Bakr later told Ibn Umar about this, but Ibn Umar said that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم pronounced Talbiya for Hajj alone. When Bakr returned to Anas and told him Ibn Umar’s words, Anas firmly answered that he heard the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم saying, “Labbayka Umratan wa Hajjan.” The report shows a direct claim of hearing. It also shows how companions and narrators discussed what they had heard about the Prophet’s Hajj.
