It is recommended to halt at Al-Muhassab on the day of departing from Mina and to perform Zuhr and subsequent prayers there

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرَ، وَابْنَ، عُمَرَ كَانُوا يَنْزِلُونَ الأَبْطَحَ . قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ وَأَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ تَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَتْ إِنَّمَا نَزَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لأَنَّهُ كَانَ مَنْزِلاً أَسْمَحَ لِخُرُوجِهِ .
Salim Narrated from:
Abu Bakr, 'Umar and Ibn Umar used to halt at Abtah. 'Urwa narrated from 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) that he did not observe this practice and said: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) halted there, for it is a place from where it was easy to depart.

Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 1311c
This hadith about al-Abtah brings two reports together. Salim says that Abu Bakr, Umar, and Ibn Umar used to halt at Abtah. Then Urwa narrates from Aisha that she did not do this practice. She said Allah’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) halted there because it was a place easier for his departure. The narration is helpful because it shows both the observed practice of some Companions and Aisha’s explanation of the Prophet’s reason for stopping there. A person searching for Muhassab in Hajj hadith or al-Abtah not Sunnah hadith will find that the text itself presents both sides carefully. The explanation should stay close to the wording: some halted there, while Aisha connected the Prophet’s halt to ease of leaving.
What we learn from this hadith
- Some Companions used to halt at Abtah after Hajj rites.
- Aisha did not observe that practice herself.
- The reason she gave was ease of departure from that place.
