Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 1534g
In this hadith, Ibn Umar reports that Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said not to sell fruits until their good condition becomes clear. The message is easy to understand: a sale should not be made while the fruit is still uncertain in quality. For someone looking up “do not sell fruits until good condition,” this hadith gives the exact core teaching. It is about fruit on trees and the need to wait until the fruit shows that it is sound. The text does not discuss every market case, so the safest explanation is this: clear condition matters before selling. This protects fairness and reduces confusion between seller and buyer.
What we learn from this hadith
- A fruit sale should wait until the fruit's good condition becomes clear.
- Trade should avoid unclear quality when the item is still on the tree.
- The buyer and seller both benefit when the condition of goods is known.
