Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 1706b

This narration is brief, but it matters because it transmits the hadith about drinking wine punishment through another chain from Anas. It says that a man was brought to the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم, then refers back to the same meaning as the previous report. So the core content is not a new ruling by itself. It supports the same report about punishment for drinking wine, where the earlier narration mentioned about forty stripes and later the change under Umar after consultation. For readers looking for Sahih Muslim 1706b explanation, the key is to see it as a supporting chain. The hadith strengthens the report’s transmission without giving many new details in the translation.

What we learn from this hadith

  • This narration supports the same report through another chain.
  • The main subject remains punishment for drinking wine.
  • Brief hadith entries can still be important because they preserve transmission links.
