Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 1742c

This narration says that the Hadith was transmitted on the authority of Ibn Abu Aufa with a slight variation of words. It mentions the phrase Hāzim al-Ahzab, meaning the Defeater of the confederates, and notes that one wording did not mention the word Allahumma in that place. The core message remains connected to dua in a battle setting. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم called upon Allah and asked for defeat of the hostile groups. This narration also shows careful reporting. The transmitters did not hide small wording differences. They recorded them clearly, helping readers see what was said in each route without mixing the wordings loosely.

What we learn from this hadith

  • Dua to Allah is central in this report of conflict.
  • The phrase Defeater of the confederates is preserved in this wording.
  • Hadith transmitters carefully noted slight differences in wording.
