Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2311b
This generosity hadith says that the report of Jabir b. Abdullah was narrated through another chain of transmitters with the same wording. The main meaning is the same as the earlier report: Jabir said that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم was not asked for anything and then answered no. This entry is mainly about preservation of the narration. It does not introduce a new story, a new request, or a new person asking. Its value is that it supports the same description of the Prophet’s generous manner through another route of narration. The lesson remains simple: the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was described by Jabir as someone who responded to requests with giving rather than refusal.
What we learn from this hadith
- This narration supports Jabir’s report through another chain.
- The same wording is preserved about the Prophet’s generous response.
- The report does not add a new event, so the lesson stays focused.
- It strengthens the reader’s attention to the Prophet’s open-handed manner.
