Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2323a
This Hadith about gentle driving in travel tells of a journey with Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم). A servant named Anjasha was driving the camels while singing camel-driver songs. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) told him to drive slowly, saying that he was driving glass vessels. The wording points to careful treatment of those being carried. In the related versions of this same report, the passengers are described as women, and one wording explains the phrase as meaning weak women. The meaning in this report is not harsh blame; it is a gentle warning to slow down and avoid harm. The Hadith shows care, soft speech, and attention to the comfort of travelers.
What we learn from this hadith
- A driver should be careful with those under his care.
- The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) corrected Anjasha with gentle words.
