Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2323e
This Hadith about Anjasha and the glass vessels adds a clear explanation to the phrase. Anas reported that Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) had a camel-driver with a very melodious voice. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said to him: drive slowly, Anjasha, and do not break the vessels of glass. The narration then explains that this meant the weak women. The report shows that a beautiful voice or lively movement should not lead to carelessness with those being carried. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) wanted Anjasha to slow down so the riders would not be harmed or troubled. The core lesson is gentle responsibility: when someone is in your care, comfort and safety come before speed or excitement.
What we learn from this hadith
- A pleasant voice or fast pace should not lead to careless driving.
- The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) explained care for women through the image of glass vessels.
- Those in charge of travel should protect people from difficulty.
