Jabir bin `Abdullah Narrated from:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: None amongst the created beings (from my Companions) would survive after one hundred years. Salim said: We made a mention of it to him (Jabir), whereupon he said: It means those who had been living on that day.

Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2538e
This hadith about one hundred years is important because it includes an explanation inside the report. Jabir ibn Abdullah reported that Allah's Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said no living soul would reach one hundred years. Salim then said that they discussed this with Jabir, and Jabir explained that it meant every created soul living on that day. This keeps the meaning clear and prevents a wrong reading. The hadith is not saying that no person can ever live one hundred years in any time. It is speaking about the people alive when the statement was made. This makes the report a lesson in both lifespan and careful understanding.
