Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2706d
Anas reports that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to make a supplication seeking refuge from miserliness, sloth, decrepitude, the torment of the grave, and the trial of life and death. This wording is short and direct. It shows that a believer can ask Allah for protection from weak habits, hard stages of life, and unseen trials. The phrase against sloth connects strongly with the common search term dua against laziness. The mention of decrepitude points to seeking protection from a difficult decline in old age. The Hadith does not make a broad speech; it gives a concise Prophetic dua that gathers personal character concerns with serious spiritual concerns.
